Text in German about Usain Bolt followed by comprehension questions in English and a writing task.

Batman describes his holiday in France with Catwoman, simultaneously modelling the use of the Perfect Tense with haben and sein. The stimulus text is followed by (i) a richtig / falsch / nicht im Text exercise, (ii) a 'find the phrase' exercise, (iii) pupil reflection on the choice of haben or sein, (iv) an explanation of the use of haben or sein, (v) a manipulation exericise focussing on the Perfect, and (vi) three writing tasks.

A synopsis of the film in the Present Tense up to the point where Hardenberg is kidnapped. Students have to read the synopsis and then re-write the text in either the Perfect or the Imperfect Tense, depending on which of the two attached files you use. Two similar texts about the London Olympics, each with comprehension questions in English. The first is a Higher level text. The second is pitched at Foundation level, and is a simplified version of the first text with slightly fewer questions.

The first text is a report which outlines the kinds of crimes that were committed and states who the perpetrators were believed to be. The second text relates the views of a German woman of Turkish heritage regarding these events. The texts are followed by questions in German.

Slides and questions designed to provoke discussion on the topic of marriage.

Practice of the technical language needed to discuss technical elements of the film. The PPT contains a sequence of slides, each containing images / an image from the film plus a statement about Filmsprache which contains an error. Students must identify, and in some instances correct, the error. After each slide containing an error, the correct statement is revealed.

The first text is about a Grundschullehrer who answered a pupil's question about Father Christmas with the truth. The second text is a weather report covering the prospects of there being a white Christmas. Both texts are followed by questions in English.

Dialogue in which the characters from THE BIG BANG THEORY discuss bedtimes. The dialogue contains the complete paradigm of se coucher and is followed by a grammatical exercise on reflexive verbs, a find the phrase acticity, a manipulation activity, and a writing task. The writing task will produce a script for subsequent speaking practice.

Improbable dialogue in which Bella from Twighlight and Belletrix Lestrange from Harry Potter compare and contrast the different routines of vampires and wizards. Embedded in the text is the complete paradigm of se coucher. The dialogue is followed by a 'Find the Phrase' exercise focussing on the reflexive verb 'se coucher', practice in writing the paradigms of other reflexives, and a gap-fill exercise in which students must supply the correct reflexive pronouns.
